Mobile Survey Reveals Importance of Mobile Phones

Technology has made a huge impact on our society and has shaped how we carry out our everyday lives. Technological advancements have saved lives and have added luxuries to our way of life. However, how dependent are we on technology? A market research company has recently conducted an online opinion poll to find out.

Paid mobile surveys reveal that most people could not go at least a month without their phones. However, these paid mobile surveys raise some questions as fourteen percent of people surveyed indicated that they would not be able to survive without their phone. That is a great amount of people if you increase the sample pool and consider the entire population of Australia. There is no arguing that mobile phones have made our way of life easier, so let us explore why mobile phones are so integral to our everyday lives.

Pay Your Bills

A lot of companies now let you pay your monthly bills right off your mobile phone. Most banks have created apps that allow you to transfer money between accounts, people, pay bills as well as checking your current financial position on the spot. A large reason mobiles are so popular, smart phones in particular is that you quite literally have the world readily available. You are generally able to do anything you are able to do on your computer. The option to add your credit card on to your phone will soon be available.

As technology has progressed, Banking institutions have been able to allow customers to pay for items in store with their phones, just as they would with a credit or debit card. As well as cancelling cards, changing pin numbers and requesting other services. This is the future of banking, and is another reason mobile phones are becoming a vital asset.

During the paid mobile surveys, 28% of people surveyed indicated that they could go a month without their phone, which is quite a large number when you consider just how many people use their phones daily. It is to be expected that as technology in the banking sector improves and make it easier to access your money, some of these people's mentalities may change.

Control Your Appliances

Many home appliance and security companies now have apps available where you can control appliances, such as your thermostat, from anywhere. You do not even need to be near the house. If you forget to close the garage door or lock your front door, you are able to close and lock it right from your phone. More and more appliances are being designed to be compatible with your phone and this will certainly be a more prominent feature in the future. 16.5% of people were unsure how long they could live without their phone, but it may not be very long before some of their favourite home appliances or home security features are quite dependent on smart phone technology, making dependence on a mobile phone an inevitability.

GPS

When lost or walking around the busy city streets, your mobile phones map application can easily be used as a GPS to get you to where you need to go. No longer do you need to buy a costly GPS as it is now available on almost any smartphone for free. 9% of people surveyed indicated that they could last a week without their phone. However, the average person uses a GPS or maps of some kind at least once a week. It has become a ritual for many.

In Case Of Emergency

7.4% of people that participated in the survey said that they could not survive without their phone and it raises a good point! One of the biggest reasons you need a phone is for emergencies. Perhaps you may rarely need it for such a case, or may not have ever needed to use it for an emergency, but the peace of mind a phone provides is a large influence in purchasing a mobile. Apart from the conventional 000 call, your maps can get you to where you want to, and tell you your current location with precise longitude and latitude co-ordinates.

The data from these paid mobile surveys show that many people think that they can survive without their mobile phones, but also show that a good amount cannot live very long, or at all, without it. After reading this article and seeing the results of the paid mobile surveys, do you think that you can live without your phone?
